Ford Shelby GT350R Mustang 2016

It was December 2013 when Ford unveiled the highly-anticipated 2015 Mustang . The redesigned pony arrived with massive improvements over its predecessor, including an independent rear suspension, a revised interior, retuned engines and a brand-new 2.3-liter, EcoBoost four-banger.
Less than a year has passed since then, and the sixth-generation Mustang received a much-needed high-performance version to replace last year’s Shelby-badged model. With the ink still wet on our2016 Shelby GT350 review, the Blue Oval has yet another muscle car in the pipeline under the GT350R nameplate.
As you might have already guessed, the "R" at the end of the iconic name makes this Shelby the lightest, quickest and meanest Mustang yet, with a host of track-honed talents on top. If you missed the Mustang 302 Boss over the past couple of years, the GT350R is here not just to replace it, but take over from where Ford left it back in 2013 and open a brand-new chapter in this pony’s rich heritage. In short, you’re about to learn more about the most track-focused Mustang in history and Ford’s answer to the bonkers Camaro Z/28 .
Updated: 1/19/2015 The preliminary 2016 Ford Shelby GT350R and GT350 ordering guides leaked online and we have them posted after the jump. Remember that these are subject to editing prior to release, so the exact details may vary in the future.

McLaren P1 GTR 2016

The 2014 McLaren P1 debuted with its hulking 3.8-liter V-8 and electric motor that produced a mighty 903 horsepower and approximately 1,100 pound-feet of twist. McLaren has already made it clear that there will be plenty of special-edition P1s, and in 2015 the first of these arrives in the form of a track-exclusive P1.
In a nod to the McLaren F1 that won the 24 Hours of Le Mans race in 1995, the track-prepped P1 carries the same GTR moniker.
Besides featuring a host of aerodynamic and technical improvements, which also translate in more horsepower and improved performance, the P1 GTR also marks the introduction of McLaren’s full customer racing program.
Just like Ferrari and Lamborghini , the Brits are upping the ante toward organizing private racing events on famous Formula One tracks, but not before the buyers receive private consultations with McLaren’s racing division.
The supercar has just been unveiled as a production-ready concept car at the 2014 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance . Read on to meet McLaren’s brand-new and utterly powerful race car .
Updated : 01/16/2015 McLaren announced that the production version P1 GTR will be officially unveiled at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show in March. The announcement comes with a new video (above) showing the car’s latest stages from the development program. Enjoy!

What The New Year Has In Store For The World Of Automobiles

2014 has been a great year for the automotive industry. Packed with some of the greatest auto shows yet and numerous car introductions, the last year brought us the best means of transportation the industry has to offer. The year kicked off with the redesigned Ford Mustang and the incredibly fast 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06; two strong nominees for the Car of the Year awards, but that has only been the tip of the iceberg. 2014 also saw the launch of the McLaren 650S, the Lamborghini Huracan, BMW’s high-tech i8 and i3, as well as the M3 and M4 performance duo. Speaking of performance duos, Dodge stunned the world with its very own pair of Hellcats based on the Challenger and Charger that are powered by a beastly, supercharger, 6.2-liter, HEMI V-8.
On the more practical side of things, Hyundai launched a new Genesis, Volkswagen brought a new Golf, and Acura took things up a notch with the brand-new TLX.
2014 was also a prolific year for pickup trucks, bringing us GM’s return to the midsize segment with the Chevy Colorado, Ford’s innovative, aluminum F-150, Ram’s updated Powerwagon and a host of large SUVs. Also, 2014 saw the Transit van cross the pond to replace the legendary E-Series after more than half a century on the market.
2014 was busy indeed, but 2015 is already upon us and there’s a lot to look forward to. The year kicks off with the Detroit Auto Show on January 12th, but the event will introduce only a mere fraction of what we’re about to see throughout the new year. Read on to find out more about this year’s highlights for the automotive industry.

Jeep Cherokee Under Investigation For Fire Risk 2015

Jeep is back in the hot seat with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration after a fire broke out inside a 2015 Jeep Cherokee just 36 hours after the customer drove it off the lot. The fiery San Diego-based incident has now sparked a formal investigation with the NHTSA into 50,000 Cherokees.
Reports sent to the agency say the “vehicle was engulfed in flames approximately 20 feet high within seconds of parking the vehicle. The complaint alleged white smoke coming from under the hood immediately after parking the vehicle and while the ignition is off.”
Purchased on Jan. 2 from Perry Chrysler Jeep in National City, California, the Jeep had been driven less than 100 miles when, on Jan. 4, the owner noticed an oil-like smell as she exited the vehicle. As reported by CBS News 8 in San Diego, the owner’s family spotted the brewing fire seconds after the Jeep was parked. Family members tried putting out the flames while fire trucks were en route. The vehicle was a total loss.
Chrysler spokesman Eric Mayne told The Detroit News, "We are aware of this incident and our investigators are cooperating fully with NHTSA’s preliminary evaluation."
This marks the second time a Cherokee owner has had similar issues. A second complaint was submitted Jan 5 after the owner of another 2015 Jeep Cherokee noticed smoke coming from under the hood while driving at 60 mph. That Cherokee only had 45 miles on it.
