A Ford Racing modified 2011 Mustang GT has become the fastest production car in the world after David Ragan set the Bristol Half Mile speed record at Bristol Motor Speedway during the World’s Fastest Half-Mile Speed Trials. The Mustang lapped the track at 98.497 mph in 19.481 seconds, with second place going to Scott Russell’s Yamaha Superbike run of 97.990 mph in 19.582 seconds.
